In my journey as a horsewoman, I have found it difficult to find practitioners that I felt would allow my horses to be themselves, show up authentically in their experience, and be given permission to ask for exactly what their systems needed. I felt that the humans I would find were too focused on fixing specific body ailments, but dismissing the fact that there was something more going on in their system. What I have learned is that every communication is information, and that we just need to be open to listening with neutrality to hear it.  
An example I could give of this, is that my mare April was hit by a vehicle when she was young in her hind end. She carried her body in a way that compensated for how her structure healed post injury. When April finally chose a practitioner that she would allow to touch her, it became a conversation about how she was storing the emotions of that injury in her system. You see, because that day she lost two herd mates and that had an impact on her emotionally. She carried her grief in the spot of impact from the vehicle in her hind end, never feeling safe enough to release it. It was in this journey of her allowing this practitioner to hold the space for her to unveil the layers and be witnessed that I realized how impactful working intuitively could be. I saw massive changes in her physical, mental, and emotional states because of her practitioner working in this way. It is with April’s guidance and story that I stepped into the world of Equine Bodywork, so I could bring this work to the horses and bridge the physical while also giving space for the mental, emotional, and spiritual to be supported. 

 

So why me as your Practitioner? 

I listen. Deeply. I drop my ego; they are the experts of themselves. I give them the space to unravel, to release what is no longer serving them, and what is holding them from being in movement. I look at the entire picture, I get to know them and their experience in their domesticated world. I allow them to be the driver of the change they want to create in their world, and alongside their humans. 

I have spent years as a witness to horses, and I mean the true witnessing, with no agenda but to understand them. I pay attention to the details. I hold the ability to see different threads that may be impacting your equine partner which may not be at the surface. I ask the most important question always, WHY. Everything they communicate is information. I utilize different tools to find what best supports them in finding their growth. 

Some of the technical details you may be looking for… I am a Certified Advanced Equine Sports Myo-Massage & Vertebral Realignment Therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, a Horse Medicine Leadership Facilitator, and Child and Youth Care Practitioner. All these thread into my work in a beautiful way, it allows me to understand the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of the horses. I also combine Energy Medicine to bring it all together, that is where my magic shines the most and transformation becomes a somatic experience.
